Finding the Christmas spirit

Trondheim is definitively one of the best places to be during Christmas. Walking through the decorated streets in the evenings, enjoying a coffee in one of the small coffee shops, watching people ice skating in the city centre, seeing frost mist coming from your mouth while walking quickly to avoid freezing your toes off.
It is Christmas time and the girls decided to search for the right holiday mood.

Motherland

Back in Norway again.. It is quite interesting that it is possible to feel like a foreigner in my own country. I have done a lot of strange things since I arrived, and gotten many strange looks after repeatedly trying to pay in Norwegian stores with Kenyan money.

Suddenly I get amazed by small things, like how quick the toilet flushes and still manages to flush everything down, how all the cars actually stop two meters away from the zebra stripes just waiting for me to cross, and how it is possible to drive for 30 min without meeting a single car. I really appreciate walking alone late at night, drinking water straight from the tap, meeting my old friends over a cup of coffee and leaving my purse on the table even if there are 50 people around, knowing that it will be waiting for me when I get back.

But it is cold, and not even snow, and i really wish i could bring all my Kenyan friends with me, so i wouldn't miss them this much.
